Is Urdu popular fiction evolving?

Many people believe that the Urdu popular fiction writers are doing a better service to the Pakistani society as compared to the Urdu literature writers. Of course, they provide very convincing arguments to support their point of view.
Actually, the contemporary Urdu literature is becoming very stale and mundane as compared to the popular fiction. Other than that, people do not find it interesting at all. In the society in which the literacy rate is falling down to abysmal depths, of course very few number of people can understand the literary writings. So, most of the people rely on the Urdu popular fiction to quench their thirst of story reading.
Some very good writers regularly contribute to the Urdu popular fiction. The Urdu popular fiction has a very interesting origin that many people simply do not know about. Actually, the Urdu popular fiction was started by Ibn e Insha. It was solely his idea and his initiation. He founded the popular fiction digests like Shua, Karan and Khawateen digest. His aim was to educate the Pakistani women in a simple yet interesting way. For that, he used to encourage female writers.
Therefore, it does not come as a surprise today that the Urdu popular fiction is more popular than the Urdu literature.
